Many rivers throughout the UK require the paddler to have a license to do so. This is controlled through Canoe Wales (CW) who offer different membership types depending on what type of paddling you wish to do. The Canoe Wales club associate membership allows members only to paddle rivers on organized club trips. If you want to paddle with peers at other times then a Canoe Wales on the water membership is required. For further information on Canoe Wales memberships check out their website
